Today we sit with ORFEÜS.
ADM: How did you start DJing?
ORF:I started DJing when I was 19, just before I started my National Service. It placed me at a huge disadvantage because I had to juggle between serving the nation and pursuing my passion. Slowly but surely, I got the hang of the basics and moved on to turntablism after watching the Redbull 3Style Competition in 2016, which really motivated me to take on this art form and get creative.
ADM: What would you say makes you different from the rest?
ORF: I love both new and old school music. I just love music in general. So that gives me a slight advantage in terms of song knowledge and being able to weave in and out in the spectrum of time with regards to music.
I’m also a really big believer of pushing local content, be it hip hop, pop, electronic dance music or any other genres. So from time to time I will pop in music from our own nation to subtly push it out to the masses if possible.
ADM: What can we look forward to next Saturday?
ORF: Let’s see…. I honestly can’t tell you much (Haven’t really started it due to the load of school work that’s being thrown at me) but expect an enjoyable set (I HOPE HAHAHA) and you can kind of expect whatever I have mentioned just now switching between music from the 70s, 80s, 90s and even the current charts!
