Hunkered in the cold of Kathmandu, the finalists for the Nepalese leg of Mix Us Happy gathered together at the Turtle Lounge & Club.
Starting up the inaugural year with a bang, the Finals had a guest performance from DJ Tech'1, who is also one of the head instructors of the Singapore leg.
Finishing first was Bishal Rai, with Suresh Garthi in 2nd place, Neil Bikram Rana in third.
Bishal had this to say when asked about his experience in Mix Us Happy.
"Being part of Mix Us Happy was a golden opportunity for me. Even in my wildest dream I never dreamt that I would win the competition.
I was so shocked when the emcee announced my name as a winner, I thought I had messed up everything. Learning DJ was a bit complicated for me but with the help of my teammates, instructor and everyone else I managed to pull through. It still feels as if I’m dreaming, I’m so happy that I’m a part of such a huge family now. When I won the competition my other contestant friends were happier for me than myself.
I thank God, Mix Us Happy, Boodles Trading, Pioneer DJ Nepal, my friends, family, and instructor for giving me this golden opportunity. Thank you for your love and support"
Suresh added on to his comments.
"Before MUH I was just a normal high school boy but after joining MUH I found myself capable of being a DJ. In just a month of training with Pioneer DJ Nepal, I found myself as the 1st runner up in MUH. I feel lucky and proud at the same time. So, in the coming days, I will give continuity to this passion."
Third place winner Neil also gave a comment.
"Firstly, I am really glad that I got the opportunity to get involved in Mix Us Happy Nepal.
Being a part of this programme with people whom I called friends have now turned into family. I would say MUH is a life-changing experience where we got to develop our skills as well as relations with each other. We grew our skills together as a family which made MUH more fun and interesting.
Being the first batch of Mix Us Happy in Nepal, winning the second runner up price was really shocking and pleasing at the same time. I can now proudly say that I am now a DJ. This was a turning point of my life and I am overwhelmed that I got into Mix Us Happy."
Lhawang Lama from Pioneer DJ had this to say about the program and why he brought the program to Nepal.
"When I was at Ultra Singapore 2018, I was very impressed and inspired by the DJs from Mix Us Happy family. Everyone was very passionate about DJing. All of them were very kind and keen in helping each other’s out and worked as a team.
I was able to see the bond between the DJs through the Mix Us Happy programme. Coming back here in Nepal, we at Boodles Trading set up a meeting and agreed to start MUH in Nepal.
As we know now, the results are very surprising and it was worth it that we did Mix Us Happy in Nepal. Registration for the next Mix Us Happy will start soon.
And a big thank you to DJ/Producer AN who has helped us a lot throughout the programme mentoring the contestants from the very beginning.
We are very thankful and glad that we chose him as the instructor for the Mix Us Happy programme.
We seek to aspire many wannabe DJs and help them to have the best DJ experience through this Mix Us Happy programme and eventually unite as one."
With that said, we look forward to the finals of the Malaysian leg of Mix Us Happy.
